It is known to cause also warts on hands and many parts of the body e.g. throat leading to painful operations in some cases. HPV has more than 100 genotypes. There is hardly any treatment available except removal of warts from the body as cryotherapies. There are some therapies available to remove these viruses from genital tract, which may be such as podophyllin solution, podophyllotoxin alcohol solution or cream, cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen etc. However creating an immune response may be a possible way of developing therapy that body rejects the genital tract lesions later on. A vaccine against 16 and 18 is available, but it is doubtful whether it can provide immunity against other many genotypes involved in cervical cancer. There is a need to do a lot of research work here to create a therapeutic choice.<br \/><br \/>Genekam Biotechnology AG has developed a number of kits to detect a lot of human HPV genotypes. One can use different kinds of samples e.g. reproductive tract samples, warts as well as throat swabs.<br \/><br \/>Genekam has developed a conventional PCR to detect 19 different major genotyping containing low and high risk strains. This kit is simple to use and need a simple PCR laboratory as conventional PCR machines are available as low as 700 US$, one can put such a laboratory in anywhere in the world with an investment of US$ 4000-5000 to do the screening or conducting the research. Genekam is bringing a number of kits under the brand name ScreenQuick. This kit contains all components to run the assay: mastermix, primers, positive control, negative control and generuler. The kit is very sample to use. User needs to add 2 \u03bcl of DNA to 18 \u03bcl mix and run it in thermocycler and see the results of gel agarose. Isolation kit for DNA is also available from Genekam Biotechnology AG.
